TV CHANNEL Teams had to make a film that one could see on the channel they drew at random: SpikeTV, Lifetime, CourtTV, SciFi Channel, or Comedy Central.
LOCATION Each team randomly drew a location that had to be the setting for at least one scene in their film: Stairwell, Closet, Sandbox, Kitchen, Sidewalk, Tree, Bathtub, or In a Car
THE NUMBER "10" In honor of Sidewalk's 10th year, they had to use the number 10 somewhere, somehow. Could be spoken, written, represented, etc.

2007 Jury:

Alex OrrALEX ORR

Alex Orr attended film school at Georgia State University where he learned to idolize Woody Allen. Before becoming a filmmaker he disappointed tourists from all over the world as a magician in Underground Atlanta, was laid off as a ticket scalper during Super Bowl XXXIV and was a Boy Scout with three years perfect attendance. He was raised by his father, Bill, at his flea market, Bill's Flea Market, in Douglasville, Georgia. Alex has just made his feature film directorial debut with Blood Car. With Blood Car Alex won the New Visions Director's Award at Cinequest 17. Currently Alex hopes to one day be as funny as Adam Pinney but he's not counting on it. He has also worked on such productions as Great World of Sound, ATL, and "Miami Ink."

Mark StolaroffMARK STOLAROFF

Mark Stolaroff is an LA-based independent film producer and film instructor. Stolaroff was formerly a Principal at Next Wave Films, a company of the Independent Film Channel that provided finishing funds to exceptional low-budget features. Stolaroff worked closely with directors such as Christopher Nolan, Joe Carnahan and Amir Bar-Lev on their first features. Stolaroff is the founder of No Budget Film School, a unique series of classes specifically designed for the no-budget filmmaker. Stolaroff is also the creator of No Budget Film Club, a screening series of exceptional no-budget features with the filmmakers in attendance to give the candid lowdown on how the films were made. Stolaroff recently produced the feature True Love, written and directed by Henry Barrial, which was a Sundance Screenwriters Lab Project. He is currently in pre-production on Barrial's next feature, Pig.

Bill SchweikertBILL SCHWEIKERT

Bill Schweikert brings an adept understanding of light and a painterly approach to the art of filmmaking. His versatility in all forms of camera work is an asset to any project, from commercial to feature-length formats. Bill has shot projects throughout the world, and believes that it is a collaborative approach to production that creates successful film. Bill's broad range of experience in moving image media - in broadcast television, commercials, and feature films - has demanded that he be skilled at communicating visual ideas effectively and at solving the very real-world challenges that face any filmmaking effort. He has worked on such films as Hunger, The Business, and Like Moles, Like Rats.
