Sponsors of the Feb 2005 Scramble:

Sidewalk iScramble for Students!

The SCRAMBLE is a weekend filmmaking competition, brought to you by the same folks that put on the Sidewalk Moving Picture Festival. From concept to completion, teams are challenged to write, shoot and edit a short film in just one weekend. At the Kick-Off event, teams are given Inspiration Items, or fun and exciting secret ingredients that must be included in their films to ensure the film was not written or shot before the weekend.

Prizes include Apple products such as Production Suite (retail value: $1,299 ), which includes Final Cut Pro HD, DVD Studio Pro 3, and Apple Motion, the “essential software suite for film and video production that delivers real-time editing, motion graphics, audio and authoring tools in one comprehensive and integrated package.”

Scramble weekend: April 8-10, 2005
Kick-Off:
Friday, April 8 @ 6pm, UAB Bell Theatre
Turn-in:
Sunday, April 10, 5-7pm, UAB Bell Theatre
Screening:

LEVELING THE PLAYING FIELD
All movies made during the iScramble must be edited on iMovie. There will be 15 iBooks available, on a first come, first-served basis that can be loaned (pending approval) for the weekend for those teams who do not have access to iMovie. Download iBook Loaner Form!

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE
Any college student can participate as long as a professor from their school is willing to be a contact person or "sponsor" from their school.

Every member on the team must be a college student, including all the principals and crewmembers. Actors are the only members of your team that are not required to be students. Each team can represent only one school.

No more than 7 teams may participate from one school.
